With more than 100,000 inhabitants Paraisópolis is one of the biggest favela of Brazil. With schools, bank branches, hair salons, travel agencies, department stores, etc., Paraisópolis is a self-supplied city inside of São Paulo. Besides getting to know the community itself, we will also visit two skillful artists: - Mr. Berbela builds wonderful sculptures using spare parts of motorcycles and recycled material. His creativity in developing new interpretations of animals and ordinary things is inspiring. - Mr. Estevão, considered the Brazilian Gaudi, has been building his Stone House in a continuous work for more than 20 years. Inside it visitors feel in a parallel world apart from ours. Members of Gaudi foundation have been at his house and have taken him to Barcelona in order to visit original Gaudi’s work. Member cost: R$250 (including tour guide fee and tickets to visit both artists) Non-member cost: R$300 Minimum 6 participants.
