You are invited to a special and intimate gathering exploring the world of kimono beyond the traditional image we often see. You’ll learn about interesting and lesser-known facts about kimono, stories from its history in Japan, and an introduction to some traditional techniques, including Shibori, Tsumugi, Yuzen and Meisen. And you’ll have the opportunity to see the kimonos and the techniques yourself. There will be a coffee break with snacks The cost of the event is R$130. At the end of the event, you’ll also have the opportunity to purchase selected kimonos and upcycled pieces. If you decide make a purchase, the event fee will be fully deducted from your purchase. Payment must be made in advance to secure your place, as there are 15 spots available. The deadline to confirm your attendance is Sunday, September 13th. She lived in Japan for almost five years, where she developed a passion for secondhand kimono. Since returning to Brazil, she has dedicated her work to finding authentic secondhand kimonos and bringing their stories, craftsmanship and beauty to a new audience. Through Aira Kimono, she shares these pieces while exploring new ways of experiencing and wearing kimono today.
